Google seems to be getting ready to launch the next iteration of its Pixel smartphone. The device has already appeared on several occasions, and now known tipster Evan Blass has tweeted that the smartphone will be launched on October 5.

The tweet also reveals that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 836 SoC (unannounced), corroborating previous leaks. There are rumours that the smartphone will feature near bezel-less display, but recent online reports suggests that the company can retain the thick bezel design from its predecessor.

The smartphone was also spotted on the US FCC website indicating that HTC will be manufacturing the smartphone and will also feature a squeezable frame similar to the HTC U11.

The Pixel 2 is also rumoured to have an ‘Always On’ display mode and the will ship in 64GB and 128GB of built-in storage options with support for NFC, Bluetooth, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
