Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max set to launch on September 5
The Honor 8X series is expected to be a successor to the Honor 7X, that was launched in October last year.
Huawei-owned Honor is gearing up to launch its latest smartphone — Honor 8X on September 5. Recently, the smartphone was seen listed on TENAA website, and a live image of the Honor 8X was also outed in a report. Now, the company has posted a teaser on a Chinese microblogging website named Weibo, confirming the presence of not one but two devices. The Honor 8X series is expected to be a successor to the Honor 7X, that was launched in October last year.
Speculations are rife that the smartphones would feature a 'waterdrop' notched display with reduced bezels, dual rear camera setup and a massive battery. Unfortunately, the teaser didn't reveal much about the smartphone, except for that the phones will 'surpass limits,' and will be 'beyond imagination.'
As per the TENAA listing, the Honor 8X would sport a 7.12-inch full-HD+ TFT display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. At its core, the handset is expected to run on the latest Kirin 710 chipset or the Snapdragon 636/660 SoC, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage, expandable up to 256GB. It will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
Optics wise, the 8X could bear a 16MP+2MP dual rear camera setup and an 8MP front sensor for shooting selfies. Connectivity options will include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It could come with a rear-ounted fingerprint sensor, as per rumours. Honor could also stuff in a large 4900mAh battery.
