HMD Global's flagship Nokia 8 launches in India for Rs 36,990
The flagship offering from HMD Global boasts of a dual camera and Snapdragon 835 SoC.
In what comes as expected, HMD Global-led Nokia has launched its flagship Nokia 8 in India. The smartphone has been launched for Rs 36,990 and becomes a direct competitor for the top-spec OnePlus 5.
Like all flagship smartphones of today, the Nokia 8 is built on top of a Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The smartphone sports a 5.3-inch QHD IPS LCD display protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The smartphone is built of 6000 series aluminium, which Nokia claims to be extremely durable.
The Nokia 8’s highlight is its ZEISS camera — a 13MP wide-angle sensor with another 13MP monochrome sensor. The front camera also sports a 13MP sensor, which can help users take boathies — selfie + photo from the rear camera. The Nokia 8 also comes with OZO 360-degree spatial audio, which essentially records sounds from all sides for an immersive video experience.
The Nokia 8 is powered by a 3090mAh battery, which can be charged from a USB Type-C port. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, which will be upgraded to Android Oreo. The smartphone will be available in Polished Copper, Polished Blue, Tempered Blue and Steel.
