Samsung to limit Galaxy Note 7 battery charge in S. Korea

Samsung Electronics is planning to limit battery charge via software update to Note 7.

Samsung said on October 27 it will implement a software update in South Korea to prevent Galaxy Note 7 smartphone batteries from charging beyond 60 per cent, the latest safety step for the recalled, fire-prone phones.

The world's top smartphone maker said it would implement the software update at 2 am on October 29 in accordance with a recommendation from regulators.
