LG launches a mosquito repellent smartphone at IMC 2017

LG has announced the launch of its K7i smartphone at Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2017. The biggest highlight of the smartphone is its 'Mosquito Away' technology that drives mosquitoes away. The smartphone is priced at Rs 7,990 and will be available across retail outlets in India.

Talking of the ‘Mosquito Away’ technology, the smartphone uses 30KHz ultrasonic sound waves to drive away the mosquitoes. The frequency of these ultrasonic sound waves is harmless to humans. The technology is enabled by the speaker placed on the inside of the additional rear panel. The company also offers a stand for the device after the repellent is activated.

It comes equipped with an 8MP rear camera, while there is a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. The device has 16GB of internal storage which is expandable using a microSD card. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB, FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack and draws power from a 2500mAh battery.
