Facebook-owned WhatsApp has released a new beta update for Android users.

Mumbai: Facebook-owned WhatsApp has released a new beta update for Android users, which adds a number of nifty features to further enhance user experience on the messaging platform.

The latest v2.12.560 beta update is only available to users who have registered for the messaging app’s beta testing platform and is not yet available on Google Play Store.

Coming to the new additions, users will be delighted to know that now they can reply directly via the notification panel on expanding it rather than opening the app.

The new feature will surely help users save valuable time while replying on the go.Even iPhone users received the clever quick reply functionality earlier this month with the v2.12.16 update.

Next in line, we have other selection features such as multiple selection, contact, and group actions.

Previously, when a user clicked on an individual or group image/icon, a separate window popped up on the app screen to show an expanded image along with info and chat options.

Now the large expanded window is gone for good and clicking on the image will give you a lot more options based on individual or group chat.

Another new feature is the ability to select multiple chats on the app, which will also help you quickly delete unwanted chats and select common activities for the selected chats.  However, you will only get the options, which are applicable to all the selected apps.

Last but not the least, the messaging platform has also added a slew of wallpaper selection options, including an all-new option for themed solid colors.
