Ditch iPhone 11; this is the smartphone you need to buy
Apple’s 2019 iPhone 11 range is pretty epic; however, there is an upcoming smartphone that will absolutely blow it away.
The iPhone 11 lineup of handsets are one of the few standout products of this year and this is especially true since 2019 had an overall mediocre showing in terms of smartphone launches. However, there are a lot of people out there who found the handset lacking in terms of revolutionary new features and a spanking new design. Apple for their part aims to rectify it and 2020 will be the year they hope to change their fortunes around with the iPhone 12 and it is going to come packing some impressive technologies that will make it worth its weight.
As per a report by ETNews, Apple is looking to improve upon its displays in its iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max by utilizing Samsung’s Y-OCTA screen technology. With this technology onboard, it negates the need for an additional touch-sensitive layer which will help in making the displays thinner and lighter but also as durable. Apple’s 2019 iPhone range was rumoured to feature this technology; however, the company has pushed it to next year. Samsung, for their part, has been using this tech in their smartphones from 2018 with the Galaxy S9.
Additionally, reputed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that all 2020 iPhones will come with 5G capabilities and support mmWave and sub-6GHz bands. This move is ideal for the wide variety of bands used in 5G installations and in the process will effectively future-proof the iPhones.
Adding to these leaks, Kuo also mentions that Apple will use a superior Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) antenna design in the 2020 iPhones which will help in giving it a signal boost. LCP first found its way on the iPhone X; however, Apple has only fitted a single LCP unit while the iPhone 12 range will come with three.
This move will see Apple continue to nail down the basics and cellular issues will become a thing of the past.
Apart from this flurry of information, Apple is also rumoured to change the design of the iPhone, come with new screen sizes, add 120Hz ProMotion screens, remove the Lightning port, reintroduce Touch ID and add a new long-range 3D camera.
The iPhone 12 is shaping up to be one of the must-buy handsets of the year.
