Yu Yunicorn launched: Features, specifications, price
Yu Yunicorn sports a full metal unibody with a 2.5D display and a fingerprint sensor.
Yu Televentures, a subsidiary of Micromax, announced the launch of their latest flagship smarpthone, the Yunicorn. The company states that the Yunicorn will redefine all flagships. The new flahship has focused mainly on design and an overall user experience.
The Yu Yunicorn is built using a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset with 4 processors buzzing at 1.8GHz and 4 others bussing at 1.4GHz. The chipset is clubbed with 4GB of RAM and the company stresses that the new SoC has the ability of saving up to 30 per cent on battery life. The internal storage on the Yu Yunicorn lies at 32GB with an additional micro SD card to expand it further to 128GB.
The Yunicorn sports a 2.5D 5.5-inch display with a full HD 1080p resolution panel. A 13MP sensor on the rear and a 5MP sensor on the front make up for the cameras on the smartphone and the operating system will be Steroids OS, an after-market flavour of Android Lollipop. Additional features include a fingerprint scanner, quick music toggle, Yu Wallet, Monochrome mode and a few utility apps. the device has a USP for its build and design, which comprises of a metal body and a 2.5D display which gives it a premium look. The Yu Yunicorn will compete against similar smartphones in the same price range, mainly from Xiaomi, LeTV, VIVO and Meizu.
Lastly, the dual-SIM (hybrid) Yunicorn will be powered by a 4000mAh battery and will cost Rs 12,999. The smartphone will be exclusively available on Flipkart and a month later, the devices will be seen in retail stores.
