Nokia 2 with massive 4100mAh battery launched in India

HMD Global has announced its cheapest smartphone Nokia 2 at an event in New Delhi, India. The pricing for the Indian market is yet to be announced, but the device will be available at a global price of EUR 99 (approx Rs 7,500) and will go on sale in mid-November. The company also revealed that there will be 1,00,000 offline stores where Nokia phones will be sold. 

The highlight of the smartphone is its 4100mAh battery which claims to offer a battery life up to 2 days. The device will go against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Moto C.

As for other specifications, the smartphone sports a 5-inch LTPS HD display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and will ship in Copper Black, Pewter Black, and Pewter White colour options, corroborating previous leaks.

The device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC at its heart backed by 1GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU. It runs on Android Nougat out-of-the-box, but the company has promised an Oreo update. The device will have the Google Assistant, the first one with the virtual assistant at this price point. Optics wise, the smartphone has an 8MP rear camera, while there is a 5MP facing shooter also on board for selfies.
