Rumoured Features of Apple's Foldable MacBook

Rumors suggest that Apple is working on a foldable MacBook, which would be Apple's first foldable device. As per reports, the foldable MacBook will be launched before the rumoured foldable iPhone.

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company is developing a 20.25-inch display for the MacBook and also considering for 18.8-inch display too. Apple also aims to make the panel as crease-free as possible.

Here's What we know about the Foldable Macbook:

Design

According to Macrumors, the Foldable MacBook will have all-display design and will feature a single large screen which you can fold. The current MacBook has a display and keyboard.
When unfolded, you can use it as a monitor with a keyboard and a mouse and when folded, there's no need for a keyboard as there will be an on-screen keyboard.
Display

Apple's Foldable MacBook is working with LG display for the OLED foldable panel. The foldable MacBook would likely have a 5K or higher resolution.

Chipset

The Foldable notebook is likely to feature the M5 chip, the successor 2024 M4 chip. M5 is likely to be manufactured on a next-generation 3-nanometer node or even a 2-nanometer node.

Price

Apple's Foldable MacBook will be expensive as the company will use high cost components for the display as well as for the hinge. The 16-inch MacBook Pro starts at Rs 3,99,900 in India.

Launch Date


The foldable device may be launched in 2025 or 2026. However, there's no official announcement from Apple.
