A coding error on Qantas's website, last Thursday, allowed almost 300 fortunate travelers to book first-class round-trip tickets from Australia to the US at a huge discount of 85 percent.

The ticket prices were as low as 3,400 dollars (2,82,200 Rupees), whose usual price is mostly 28,000 Australian dollars (15,77,000 Rupees) each.
The airline then identified and corrected the error.
Qantas noted that the fare was too good to be true, but instead of canceling the tickets, the airline decided to book those customers in business class at no additional cost.
This move has been seen as a gesture of goodwill by Qantas, while as the passengers unsatisfied with this setting have been granted full refunds.
This event comes after the issue of last year when Australian authorities accused Qantas of selling tickets for over 8,000 flights that had been canceled already. This resulted in more than 86,000 passengers being affected.
Later on, the airline consented to pay nearly 80 million dollars (around Rupees 180 crore) to resolve the lawsuit in May, with over 13 million dollars (around Rupees 108 crore) allocated to impacted customers.
In June, Vanessa Hudson, CEO of the Qantas airline, agreed with the company's shortcomings in meeting the expectations of both customers and staff.
