Los Angeles: The gunman who killed a federal security officer at Los Angeles International Airport and wounded three other people during a 2013 rampage faces sentencing for murder and other crimes.

Paul Ciancia is expected to be sentenced Monday to life in prison for shooting terrorised passengers and employees at the nation's second-busiest airport and disrupted air travel nationwide.

The unemployed motorcycle mechanic from New Jersey pleaded guilty to murdering Transportation Security Administration Officer Gerardo Hernandez and 10 other counts.

The murder conviction carries a mandatory life sentence. Prosecutors are seeking an additional 60 years in prison for wounding two other TSA officers and a passenger who was headed to a wedding.
