Video captures moments of chaos when snipers shot at police officers in Dallas

Dallas: Amid protests against racism and the gruesome killing of Philando Castile, two snipers struck near the protest rally and fired shots at police officers, killing four and wounding eleven others.

A shocking video footage of the shooting incident has emerged online which shows people fleeing the scene and screaming in terror while sirens can be heard in the background.

One of the protesters can be heard shouting, "They are shooting".

Officials can be seen escorting the people from the place as more police vans come to their rescue.

The gunfire broke out around 8:45 p.m. Thursday while hundreds of people were gathered to protest fatal police shootings this week in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and suburban St. Paul, Minnesota.

Scores of police and security officers were on hand. Police and others hunched behind cars outside a parking garage. Officers with guns drawn were running near and into the parking garage as police searched for the shooter.

The scene was chaotic, with helicopters hovering overhead and officers with automatic rifles on the street corners.
