Teacher who had sex with student forbidden from meeting kids

North Carolina: A 30-year-old, mother-of-three, school teacher has been banned by the court to be around any child under the age of 18, this ruling also includes her own children, according to a report in the Mirror.

Laura Garrigus, from North Carolina, was arrested on Monday after a 17-year-old student reported her to the police. Garrigus allegedly had a sexual relationship with her female student for several months.

Garrigus resigned from her job at the Cumberland International Early College after reports of her alleged behaviour emerged in December. She has now been charged with four counts of taking indecent liberties with a student and two counts of sexual offense with a student.

According to the police, the alleged sexual relationship between the teacher and student was consensual.

However she is charged under state laws that ban sex between a teacher and their student.

As a result of her arrest she is not allowed to have any contact with children under the age of 18.

This even includes her two sons and her daughter.
