US notified Pakistan after strike on Taliban commander: official

Washington: The United States informed Pakistan and Afghanistan early on that it had conducted a drone strike in a remote area of Pakistan on Saturday believed to have killed Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour.

"Both the Pakistanis and the Afghans were notified shortly after the strike," a senior White House official said.
