The boat was carrying more than 100 people when it sank off Costa Rica last year causing panic among people on board.
Costa Rica: A terrifying video is making the rounds on internet in which a boat carrying at least 100 passengers capsized and sank off the coast of Costa Rica, wreaking havoc and causing panic among terrified people on board, according to a report in the The Sun.
The footage, filmed by one of the passengers on the boat, shows the boat tilted to one side as the water starts accumulating on the upper deck of the ship.
The passengers can be seen holding on to the sides and tables on the boat as they desperately try to save themselves from drowning.
In the footage, some people can be seen getting stuck under the upper deck's canopy as the boat sinks .
As the fortunate survivors wait for rescue, they are seen struggling to stay stable as the bodies of dead passengers float beside them.
"At first I had no idea it was so serious. As long as we could have our Margaritas, I was fine," Ms Esenault, one of the survivors was quoted as saying.
"But then very quickly it became clear that there was a serious problem. People were sliding down the boat and screaming. It happened very quickly," she added further.
Esenault was forced to swim up to the surface as the boat sank. She also said that she was restricted from wearing a life jacket as it would get stuck somewhere in the ship.
The boat was carrying 98 passengers and 10 crew members when it met with a tragedy last year.
