Instant noodles, canned milk make babies gay', says Indonesian mayor
Mayor Arief R Wismansyah made the comment during a seminar on pregnancy.
Jakarta, Indonesia: The mayor of Indonesian city of Tangerang has hit headlines after making controversial remarks on pregnancy, canned milk and instant noodles, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Speaking at a seminar on pregnancy earlier this week, Mayor Arief R Wismansyah claimed that today's parents rely on canned products including milk and instant noodles for their children because of their busy schedule, resulting in a rise in the LGBT community.
Claiming that Indonesia needs more smart, healthy as well as competitive children, he requested parents to provide their children with adequate nutrition.
In the recent past, another politician was pulled up for making dubious remarks asking universities to ban LGBT students.
