Pro-ISIS Twitter account threatens to attack London, US airports
The attacks will be carried out on planes flying from Heathrow to US.
London: Days after the deadly attack at Istanbul airport, a pro-ISIS Twitter account has threatened to attack Los Angeles International, John F Kennedy and Heathrow airport. The development comes at a time when the US is prepping for Independence Day celebrations on July 4, according to reports.
The attacks will be carried out on planes flying from Heathrow to US. Besides, a device might be planted in either of the airports, as per the details on the Twitter account.
Taking note of the tweets, Transport Minister Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon said, “We all need to be vigilant to the global threat of terrorism -- in Britain we keep all aspects of aviation security under constant review and work closely with our international partners to mitigate risks,” as quoted in a report.
The warning was first brought to light by the Site Intelligence Group, an organisation that keeps track of terrorist organisations. Following the warning, security has been beefed up at US airports.
