London: Britain’s first pregnant man has given birth to a girl, Trinity-Leigh.
Hayden Cross, 21, made headlines when he announced he was pregnant by a sperm donor. Cradling his daughter the beaming parent told The Sun: “She’s perfect in every way. She is so good. I’m so lucky.”

Hayden, who was born Paige, gave birth by caesarean. He had put his transition on hold to fall pregnant, three years after becoming legally male through gender reassignment, The Sun reported. Now, he plans to return to complete his gender realignment as soon as possible.

He has been living legally as a man for more than three years and taking malehormones, giving him facial hair and a deep voice. But Hayden was desperate to have a baby. He had asked the National Health Service to freeze his eggs in a £4,000 process, but the request had been denied.

In January, Hayden told The Sun said: “I faced the prospect of not becoming the man I’m supposed to be, physically, or a dad. So I didn’t feel like I had any choice but to have a baby now then get back to transitioning.”

He got pregnant by a sperm donor in September. “I found the donor on the internet. I looked on Facebook for a group and found one — it’s been shut down now. He came to my house, he passed me the sperm in a pot and I did it via a syringe,” he said.
