Russia app finds users dates' for elections
If the scheme proves successful, Mamba may use it during the March 2018 presidential election, BBC reported.
A Russian dating service has come up with a novel idea to encourage people to vote in the upcoming municipal elections. The popular dating agency Mamba has launched an app that will find dates for users. They can “meet and go to polls together on September 10” when 16 regions across Russia hold municipal elections, the BBC reported.
Users of ‘Voting Together’ app are shown photos of possible matches. They are then asked: “Will you go to the elections with him/her?” If two users say “yes”, they receive a message saying, ‘It looks like we like each other. We can go to vote together on September 10.” They can then message each other and find a ballot station that is convenient for them both.
