Five malnourished minors collapse in court during in Abuja
In a dramatic scene at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, five minors on trial for alleged treasonable felony and attempting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu's government collapsed while standing in the courtroom. The incident began when one malnourished minor fainted, followed by four others who also fell to the floor, creating chaos as court proceedings were interrupted.
Lawyers and court officials quickly intervened to revive the collapsed minors, who were subsequently rushed to the hospital for treatment. The prosecution then sought to withdraw the charges against the minors on health grounds, referencing the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015. Meanwhile, defense counsel Abubakar Marshal argued that the minors should be released into the custody of their parents.
