Italian Parliament Brawl: Lawmakers Throw Punches

The development comes at a time when Italy is in the news for hosting the G7 Summit.

It all started when a member opposing the move attempted to tie an Italian flag around the neck of Regional Affairs Minister Roberto Calderoli. 

In a response to the opposing leader, Calderoli's party men have came in support and surrounded him leading to chaos and physical fight within the Parliament. Two groups were seen throwing punches at each other.

Those injured in the altercation were later seen leaving the parliament premises in wheel-chairs. Those who are opposing the far-right government's move are saying that it will undermine Italy's unity.

Condemning the incident, Italy's Foreign Minister said that political disputes must be resolved without physical altercations.
