34 Islamic nations to fight terrorism
Modi and Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz held talks and agreed to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism.
Riyadh: Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Sunday briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his initiative in bringing together 34 countries to form a powerful Islamic military coalition to combat terrorism, as the two leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in fighting the menace.
Mr Modi, who is here on a two-day official visit to the kingdom, and Salman held talks and agreed to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism, both at the bilateral level and within the multilateral system of the United Nations.
Delink religion from terrorism: Narendra Modi
Terming terrorism as the enemy of humanity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said there was a need to “delink” religion from it and asserted that “segmented and partial” approaches to counter the menace will not be effective. He said there can be no distinction between “good” or “bad” terrorism and that it has “no caste, colour, creed or religion”
