Blindfolded and held down on a chair, ISIS continues to torment victims
ISIS militant prepares to behead 'terrified' victim with scimitar while chopping off hands of theives as punishment.
Beirut: New images of ISIS have surfaced online in which a militant prepares to behead a victim with a scimitar, according to a report in the DailyMail.
A scimitar is typically a short sword with a sharp blade that is usually used in the Eastern countries. The terrified victim is held down on a chair before being killed.
ISIS militants are believed to carry out similar or more severe punishments publicly and sometimes in front of children.
This incident is believed to have taken place in the terror group's Syrian caliphate Raqqa.
In the recently released image by ISIS, a militant is seen holding a man on a chair while another one is preparing to behead the victim.
Although the reason for this punishment is unclear, Islamic State has often sentenced its prisoners for crimes such as robbery, spying as well as blasphemy.
Moreover, another image released by ISIS shows a militant chopping off the hands of a thief with a meat clover. Islamic State group follows a strict interpretation of the Sharia law where the punishment for theft is chopping off the right hand and is also followed by Saudi Arabia and Iran.
All the punishments carried out by ISIS are followed by a trial in the Islamic court. After the trial, the prisoners are taken to the town and are then executed publicly.
