Washington: Tarishi Jain, the 18-year-old Indian student killed by the Dhaka terrorists, had helped created a clothing line — profits from which would be invested to provide micro-loans for the poor in Bangladesh. In a tribute posted on its website, UC Berkeley (where Jain was a student) said the teenager was working on e-commerce growth at Eastern Bank Limited in Dhaka.

Her clothing line was called EthiCal Apparel. “We are all very devastated to hear the news. She was a smart and ambitious young woman with a big heart,” Sanchita Saxena, from the Institute for South Asia Studies and director of the Center for Bangladesh Studies, said.
