Moderate 5.5 earthquake hits Nepal, no casualties reported

Kathmandu: An earthquake measuring 5.5 on Richter Scale shook western and central Nepal, including the Kathmandu Valley, on Sunday night.

According to the National Seismological Centre, the epicentre of the quake was in Gorkha district in the same area where a 7.8 magnitude temblor on April 25 last year killed over 9,000 people and left behind a trail of devastation.

No casualties were reported so far from the area.
