Police strongly believe that the YSRC leader's phone would be of great use to them in probing into the case and submitted a petition seeking permission from the court seize the cell phone

Police intensified investigation into the attack on TD central office and the kidnap of Satyavardhan, working in it, from the premises.
As part of it, YSRC leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi was arrested. Police believe that they would be able to make a breakthrough, if they can seize his mobile phone.
They are of the opinion that the phone would be able to provide them some crucial evidences relating to the case in the phone.
When police arrested him in Hyderabad, they could not find his phone.
However, they seized his personal secretary's phone and sent it to the forensic lab.

Once they obtain the permission, the police will raide Vamsi's residences in Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
It is learnt that Vamsi answers normal calls on WhatsApp to hookwink the police. The cops are busy trying to collect the IPDR details, to know with whom Vamsi is associated.
According to reports, Vamsi did not have his breakfast or lunch even after being shifted to Vijayawada from Hyderabad, after the arrest. Reportedly, he abstained from food in-take only to faint in the jail out of hunger, as they would soon shift him to the hospital. This would delay being produced in the court. However, police overthrew his plans by producing him in the court on Thursday night, much before Friday.
After being remanded, he was shifted to the district jail in Vijayawada on Friday morning. He was lodged alone in a single cell and given the number 7641, as his identity.
As Sections relating to SC and ST harassment are included in the case, the court is likely to shift it to the relating court.
