Akshay Kumar sells sugarcane juice for a good cause
The actor sold juice and even played a game of volley ball to raise money for farmer's widows.
Akshay Kumar will be seen playing saviour in his upcoming film ‘Airlift’, which is set to hit screens this Friday. Keeping up with the theme of the film, the Bollywood action superstar will be seen playing hero to three farmer’s widows in an upcoming television show.
The episode that will air later his week, will see the star take on odd jobs in order to earn money that will in turn be handed over to the widows. For his task the actor had to sell sugarcane juice to BSF jawans in Jodhpur. At the end of the day, the star managed collecting a commendable amount of Rs 5,000.
Being the generous and kindhearted guy he is, Aki was willing to double the amount if the jawans could beat him and his team to a match of volley ball.
Akshay’s film ‘Airlift’ that also stars Nimrat Kaur tells the story of the world's greatest human evacuation. The film, directed by Raja Krishna Menon is based on the 1990 evacuation of more than 1,70,000 Indians from Kuwait.
