PUNE: Tata Motors, India’s biggest automaker by revenues, on Friday delivered the first batch of 2,000 Tiago EV to buyers across 133 cities.
Tata Tiago EV is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh at pan India showroom, making it the most affordable four-wheeler EV in India. The top end costs Rs 11.79 lakh. The Tiago EV is the carmaker's first electric hatchback after the Tigor EV and the Nexon EV.
The Mumbai-based company had received over 20,000 bookings for the Tiago EV hatchback so far and the first 10,000 had come in just the first day.
The Tiago EV went on sale in September last year and received over 10,000 bookings in a single day. Hence, the carmaker decided to extend the introductory pricing to an additional 10,000 customers.
The Tiago EV is available in four variants: XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech LUX. It comes with either a 19.2 kWh battery pack offering a maximum range of 250 km or a 24kWh battery with 315 km range.
The car is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that puts out 74 BHP and 114 Nm. Tata claims the car can reach 0-60 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
