The Toyota Glanza is set to be launched on June 6.
The Toyota Glanza is the first outcome of the tie up between Toyota and Suzuki. Essentially a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno with minor cosmetic tweaks, the Glanza’s feature list is quite identical to that of the hatch it is based on. We also know for a fact that the Glanza will be the first Toyota car in India to feature both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Currently, Toyota only offers the regular Aux-In and Bluetooth connectivity options across their range of cars. Maruti Suzuki’s SmartPlay Studio, which is offered in the Baleno, will find its way on to the Glanza as well. However, in the Toyota hatchback, it will be called ‘Smart Playcast’. The system was first introduced on the new WagonR, which was launched in January 2019, before making its way to the Baleno.
What remains to be seen is whether the Glanza will get a telematics system like the Baleno or not. Maruti Suzuki offers a three-year subscription of its S-connect telematics system for a sum of Rs 10,000 (the price is inclusive of the device) and it is not yet clear if Toyota will offer a free trial period or charge for this service.
More details about this system will be revealed once the Glanza is launched in India on June 6.
