Stars descend upon Hyderabad for Formula E
HYDERABAD: The Greenko Hyderabad E-prix, aka Formula E, held for the first time in India in Hyderabad, was a star-studded event as it was witnessed by cricketers, Tollywood actors, and several VIPs.
Gracing the event was cricketing legend, maestro Sachin Tendulkar who was later joined by other cricketers including Shikhar Dhawan, Deepak Chahar and Yuzvendra Chahal who was accompanied by his choreographer wife Dhanashree Varma.
Before the race started, Dhawan experienced a hot lap of the track in the Porsche Taycan Safety Car, reaching a top speed of 260 km. Joining Shikhar was Chahar, who said being a part of the first ever Formula E race in India is “electrifying, literally!”
Known to be automobile aficionados, the Akkinenis, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil, enjoyed the race as their fans cheered and took some selfies.
Not one to miss out on sporting events happening in Hyderabad, ‘RRR’ star Ram Charan also enjoyed the race.
Patiently obliging fans’ requests for selfies was Siddhu Jonnalagadda, popular for his movie “DJ Tillu”. Shruti Haasan and her beau Santanu Hazarika were also among the long list of celebs present at the venue.
Dulquer Salman, another car enthusiast, was also at the race and joined Tollywood actors at the venue.
BRS MP J. Santosh Kumar, AP industries minister Gudivada Amarnath, children of IT minister K.T. Rama Rao and MLC K. Kavitha, Cyberabad police commissioner Stephen Ravindra and family, film producer Allu Arvind were all among the spectators.
