Kia Sonet facelift with ADAS launched at Rs 7.99 lakh
Pune: South Korean car giant Kia on Friday introduced the Sonet facelift with prices ranging from Rs 7.99 lakh- Rs 15.69 lakh at the Delhi showroom and deliveries scheduled to begin by mid-January.
Kia has given the Sonet mild cosmetic changes and feature additions to help it in the crowded compact SUV segment.
The Sonet compact SUV is sold in 19 variants with petrol and diesel engine options, including automatic.
"We are once again premiumizing the compact SUV segment by introducing the new Sonet,” said Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales and Business Strategy Officer, at Kia India.
He said the old Sonet disrupted the segment with its exceptional design and technological prowess, and with the new Sonet, “we are taking that winning proposition much higher”.
“Apart from ADAS technology, Sonet also proudly stands as the most connected car in its segment, featuring enjoyable Hinglish commands and futuristic features like the Surround View Monitor, all designed to provide the best Compact SUV driving experience for both shorter and longer commutes,” Sohn pointed out
The Sonet gets a revised front fascia featuring new L-shaped headlamps, while the basic shape of the front grille remains the same.
At the rear, the car gets a new set of LED taillights connected by an LED light bar like the Seltos.
The Sonet is equipped with a new digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new air-conditioning module. It also has features like a voice-controlled window function, ventilated front seats, rear door sunshade, an air purifier, over 50 connected car features and 6 airbags.
The biggest highlight of the new Kia Sonet is Level 1 ADAS. This includes safety features like Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Following Assist, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.
The Sonet facelift is available with the same engine options as before. Customers can choose from a 1.2-litre petrol engine mated with a 5-speed manual, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine which comes with either a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that is offered with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT and 6-speed automatic.
