Skoda Kushaq, Slavia Ambition now get 1.5 TSI option
PUNE: Skoda on Tuesday introduced the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine in the Ambition variants of its popular Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan models with a starting price of Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 14.94 lakh respectively at pan India showroom.
This engine was earlier available only on the top-end Style variants of the Kushaq and Slavia model, and introducing it in the mid variant helps attract buyers looking for a more powerful engine.
The ambition trim 1.5 TSI is available with 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic options.
Skoda’s 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine develops 148 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. It also features Active Cylinder Technology, which deactivates two cylinders while cruising in order to improve fuel efficiency.
The engine complies with RDE norms and is compatible with E20 blended fuel. The upgrades are said to have resulted in a 7 per cent increase in fuel efficiency.
“The 1.5 TSI engine is known globally, not only for power and torque, but also for technology and efficiency. In line with demand and feedback from our customers, we have decided to introduce this advanced engine in our best-selling trim on the Kushaq and Slavia. Both cars are key volume drivers for us and will play a pivotal role in our ‘accelerated growth’ strategy for 2023 and onwards,” Petr Šolc, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India, said.
Skoda is also offering the Slavia and Kushaq 1.5 Ambition in dual-tone colour schemes.
The Slavia comes in Crystal Blue with a black roof and Carbon Steel with a silver roof, while the Kushaq is offered in Honey Orange with a black roof and Carbon Steel with a silver roof.
