All-New Volkswagen Tiguan Starts at Rs 49 Lakh

The Tiguan R-Line is offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 201 BHP and 320 Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Pune: German automaker Volkswagen on Monday launched the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan SUV at an introductory price of Rs 49 lakh at pan India showroom to boost sales.

This third generation Volkswagen India's flagship SUV and best seller the world over will be sold in a sole R-Line variant in the Indian market. Deliveries will start from April 23, the company said.

Built on the MQB EVO platform, the all-new Tiguan R-Line boasts of a new chassis generation that delivers claimed unparalleled driving dynamics and ride experience.

“This iconic SUVW along with being bold and dynamic is also modern, fully equipped and highly capable to handle all terrains,” said Ashish Gupta, Brand Director at Volkswagen India.

Developed with German–engineered DNA, 5-star safety and fun-to-drive dynamics, the all-new Tiguan R-Line is here to thrill, he added.

The Tiguan R-Line is a sportier version of the standard Tiguan. It gets a sporty front bumper with large vents, a gloss black fascia and LED light bars at the front and rear.

Inside, it gets sports seats, a 3-spoke steering wheel with a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch central touchscreen, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The SUVs safety features include Level 2 ADAS, with 21 driver assistance and safety features such as lane change assist, rear traffic alert, emergency braking system, lane keeping assist, Park Assist Plus and Active Cruise Control. It also has 9 airbags, TPMS, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and disc brakes on all four wheels.

The Tiguan R-Line uses Volkswagen’s 4 Motion all-wheel drive system with a new generation of Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC Pro) and a Vehicle Dynamics Manager that controls functions of electronic differential locks (XDS) and shock absorbers.

The system can also apply brake pressure to individual wheels and control shock absorber damping to offer neutral, stable and precise driving.
