Design Sketches of New Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e Revealed
Pune: Mahindra, the SUV specialist, on Friday revealed design sketches of its upcoming electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6e.
The all-new models are set to debut on November 26 and will be the first of ‘born EVs’ from the Indian brand. Mahindra will also announce the prices on the launch day.
Mahindra will be looking to position its first wave of born-electric SUVs aggressively in the market as it finally takes on the mainstream EV segment, so a disruptive starting price is likely.
The latest Mahindra electric SUVs are based on the INGLO platform. Both models feature a striking exterior design and futuristic cabin.
The XEV 9e has a trapezoidal front fascia with L-shaped LED DRLs connected by an LED light bar. It has a strong shoulder line with flared wheel arches.
The BE 6e boasts a more athletic look with a coupe-like roofline and chunky wheel arches. It has a slimmer front fascia compared to the XEV 9e with U-shaped LED DRLs.
Inside, it gets an expansive screen, housing the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.
The XEV 9e and BE 6e will use a rear-mounted electric motor producing between 228 BHP and 282 BHP.
Mahindra has also confirmed that the BE 6e and XEV 9e will be equipped with 59kWh or 79kWh battery packs and that using a 175kW DC fast charger, the batteries can charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in just 20 minutes.
The BE 6e will also be available in a dual-motor AWD configuration.
