Pune: French car maker Citroen on Friday launched its all-new Basalt SUV Coupe aggressively priced at Rs 7.99 lakh to shake up the growing mid-size SUV market in the country.
A game changer in the mid-size SUV market, it is the first coupe SUV in the mass-market depending on when Tata Motors will introduce its Curvv SUV Coupe.
The booking amount for the Basalt is set at Rs 11,001. The introductory pricing of the SUV is valid for all bookings with deliveries till October 31, 2024, the company said.
It said the Basalt offers customers the best of both worlds, combining the bold attitude of an SUV with the elegant silhouette, refinement and spaciousness of a coupe.

Stellantis is present in India with its Citroen and Jeep car brands.

Moreover, it offers the spaciousness and versatile elegance of a coupé, setting a new benchmark in automotive excellence.
The Basalt SUV Coupe is available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 81 BHP and 115 Nm and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol that puts out 108 BHP and 190 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
Standard safety features offered on the Basalt include 6 airbags, ESC, Isofix, seat belt reminders and 3-point seat belts for all seats.
