Pune: In a strategic move to boost sales, Skoda, the Czech automaker, has now introduced the Skoda Kushaq Onyx with an automatic transmission and a host of new features, and made it the most affordable automatic in its segment at Rs 13.49 lakh.
The Kushaq Onyx AT SUV has been positioned between the Active and Ambition variants.
“The Onyx variant has been a key addition in our line-up combining the value of the Active trim with features from the higher variants,” said Petr Janeba, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India.
He said this new Kushaq Onyx was in response to a healthy demand for an automatic variant at a more accessible price point.
“In fact, our value proposition makes this Kushaq the most affordable automatic in its entire segment,” Janeba noted.
The Kushaq Onyx AT comes equipped with LED headlamps with DRLs and fog lamps with static cornering function. It gets Tecton wheel covers, Onyx badging on the B-pillars and a rear wiper and defogger.
Inside, the Onyx AT trim gets Onyx-themed cushions and textile mats, and scuff plates with Onyx inscriptions.
The Kushaq Onyx AT SUV is equipped with features such as a 2-spoke multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters, automatic climate control, hill hold control and 6 airbags.
The Kushaq Onyx AT is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 114 BHP and 178 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
