Hitwicket launches cricket strategy game ‘Hitwicket Superstars’

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-based Multiplayer cricket gaming app Hitwicket has launched a multiplayer cricket stratergy game ‘Hitwicket Superstars’ here on Thursday.

The new game will allow gamers to go beyond playing cricket and don the hat of a Team manager. Instead of the conventional bat and ball gameplay, the core loop of the game is set in a virtual world where users can manage and build an ultimate team by employing nuanced strategy elements to climb up the global leaderboards.

Founded by Keerti Singh and Kashyap Reddy, the gaming app has has also raised 3 million USD in funding from Prime Venture Partners to create a strategy driven gaming studio and deliver world class cricketing action to over a billion cricket fans globally.

The startup will use the fresh funds to add more features that revolve around multiplayer access where gamers can strategize in real-time and play against each other. Hitwicket combines the global-appeal of cricket with the accessibility of mobile gaming and aims to become the first Mobile Esports IP in the Cricket Games category from India.

The app has over three million gamers across 100 countries with more than 30% users from outside India and from over 200 cities in India. It logs 1.3 million minutes of game play each day, with an average user session lasting 45 minutes as opposed to the global average of 23 minutes. Challenging the stereotype of the male gamer, 17% of Hitwicket gamers are women and it is the world’s first virtual cricket league game to introduce women cricketers. It also has a vibrant Discord community of over 17,000 active members.

Hitwicket enables gamers to compete against other teams globally in various leagues and one-on-one matches organized on the app throughout the year and also hosts the Virtual Cricket League (VCL) which offers the most immersive cricket league experience in real time on a mobile app. It uses artificial intelligence, along with extensive data analysis to drive up user engagement.
