TiE Global Summit all set to take off on Dec. 12
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad would host one of the largest entrepreneurship summits — TiE Global Summit — from December 12 to 14 — the first such gathering of investors and entrepreneurs since the Covid pandemic struck the world.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle about the summit, TiE Global vice-chairman and TiE Global Summit co-chair Murali Bukkapatnam said the summit would bring together more than 2,500 entrepreneurs, 500 charter members, 150 global speakers, and 200 investors from across six continents.
He said the event will focus on three broad themes — future tech, new age entrepreneurship and sustainability.
TiE — an abbreviation for The Indus Entrepreneurs — is an organization that works for the growth of entrepreneurs through education, mentoring, funding, networking and incubation.
“We will have a unique concept called Speaker Round-Table at this summit. As part of this, speakers will have to spend two hours with some select curated startups in a closed-door meeting after the speech. During such a meeting, the speakers will narrate their 500-day entrepreneurial journey to the startups,” Bukkapatnam said, adding that about 130 speakers have registered for the summit.
Of these speakers, he said 22 people are the ones who successfully built unicorns.
The TiE Global Summit will host a programme called TiE Women, where the best startup promoted by a woman will be selected through a competition.
“Thirty-eight women entrepreneurs who founded startups will be participating in the semi-final on December 12. On the next day, six finalists will compete for the TiE grant,” he said.
Bukkapatnam also said that about six investors are ready to write a cheque for the promising startup at the event.
Through TiE university, TiE also intends to provide a grant to university students who come up with a good idea.
