Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based GEF India has three refineries in Andhra Pradesh Limited (GEF India), which makes Freedom Refined Sunflower oil, will commission its refinery in Telangana in three years, said P Chandra Shekhara Reddy, vice president – sales and marketing, GEF India.
It had proposed to invest ₹400 crore in the unit and provide employment to about 1,000 people and support oilseed farmers in Telangana.
The company on Wednesday introduced Freedom Refined Sunflower oil in a 10-litre multi-use jar. TV anchor and actress Suma Kanakala launched the new oil jar.
Freedom has 36% share in Telangana and 67.5% in AP of the total 50,000 tonnes sunflower oil market in both the States. GEF India has three refineries in AP. It is also expanding in Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu, a release said.
