Economic growth led to peace in society: Telangana DGP

Hyderabad: The progress of Telangana in the last eight years could be attributed to the inclusive policies of the government that contributed to the peace of the state, prosperity and progress, said Dr Rajat Kumar, special secretary, irrigation.

He was speaking at the FTCCI CEOs Forum’s interactive meeting here.

Director General of Police Anjani Kumar, FTCCI president Anil Agarwal, FTCCI CEO Forum convenor K. Bhaskar Reddy and Khyati Narawane, CEO of FTCCI were present.

Dr Kumar said trade, geography and institution are the three deep drivers of development, and Telangana had performed well on all of these parameters. He said that as prosperity increased across the board, the cost of doing business will increase and it could be countered by increasing production.

DGP Anjani Kumar said, “70 years after Independence, India stands tall with its head high, because of economic growth. It is this economic growth that is the foundation for peace. Whether peace or war, economic development matters.”

He said that to achieve peace, prosperity and progress, the key factors were economic development, inclusive growth and adaptation to new technology.

Agarwal, FTCCI president, said peace was the foundation for prosperity and progress. “There is no peace without prosperity. Prosperity fulfils the needs of citizens,” he said.

Khyati Narawane, CEO of FTCCI, said that the speakers were chosen to leave a lasting impact on 150 CEOs at the meeting.

Meela Jayadev, and Suresh Singhal, FTCCI vice-presidents, B.P. Acharya, chief adviser, among others were present.
