Reliance to generate of 10 GW of renewable solar energy in AP: Ambani
Visakhapatnam: Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani vowed to invest in the generation of 10 gigawatts of renewable solar energy in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the inaugural session of AP Global Investors Summit here on Friday, the Reliance industries head said that Andhra Pradesh was playing a crucial role in India’s economic growth. Their firm has invested over Rs 1.50 lakh crore for exploration of oil and gas in Krishna-Godavari basin in DG asset and its share was 30 per cent in India’s gas production that shows AP’s immense contribution to the country’s economic growth.
He said that the state was blessed with endowed with abundant fertile land, natural resources, talent and heritage from the pristine beaches of Visakhapatnam to the rich and green plains of Godavari and Krishna and from the splendours of Vizianagaram empire to the sacred hills of Tirumala.
Three strengths have bolstered Brand AP, he said. It has an incredible number of entrepreneurs in infrastructure and pharmaceuticals; the state has a strong team of professionals globally and with Reliance itself having the best professional managers from AP. Thirdly the growth of the blue economy will open floodgates in renewable ocean energy, seabed minerals and marine biotechnology.
Ambani said that India had become the largest growing economy in the world and so was the case with AP, including in economic growth and EoDB where it is ranked number one in the country.
He said that Reliance had invested nearly Rs 40,000 crore for the Jio network and added that its 4G network would cover 98 per cent of AP’s population. He said that roll out of Jio’s True 5G would be completed by the year-end. This will facilitate large-scale benefits and employment opportunities. He said that Reliance Retail has partnered with 1.2 lakh kirana merchants across 6,000 villages with tools to support the digital age. He said that it was providing 20,000 jobs in Andhra Pradesh.
