Hyderabad: MosChip Semiconductor Technology, a Hyderabad-based semiconductor and IoT technology company, on Wednesday announced its decision to acquire four companies, including one in the United States, for an undisclosed sum.
The target companies are Gigacom Semiconductor LLC, California, the US, Gigacom Semiconductor, Visakhapatnam, FirstPass Semiconductors, Hyderabad, and Institute of Silicon Systems, Hyderabad.
The acquisitions will come into immediate effect, subject to all necessary approvals.
MosChip is making these acquisitions as part of the company’s growth plans to offer the full suite of skillset and expand business geography.
According to MosChip founder Ram Reddy, “These acquisitions will help MosChip to add more than 250 engineers to the global headcount and expand its footprint in North American region. MosChip will also get access to high speed serial interface IP (SerDes) which has become key building block for any System-On-Chip (SOC) development, making it one of the few companies with productization capabilities and leading Fab relationships.”
