ITE.Biz: Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge plans it big
Bengaluru: In a bid to bring back the lost glory of the annual BangaloreITE.Biz event, the newly appointed IT and BT minister Priyank Kharge seems to be on a mission, meeting CEOs of top Fortune-500 companies to get new ideas on how to make the annual IT jamboree a successful event in terms of business and innovation.
Speaking to DC, Mr Kharge who has been a minister for just five weeks, said, “The next wave of growth in the Information Technology & Electronics sectors is expected to be driven through Digital Analysis. This will lead to the development of ground-breaking products and technologies. The city of Bengaluru is recognized as the capital of innovation thanks to its robust network of leading IT & electronics companies, research institutions as well as the vibrant star-up culture. Therefore, meeting these top honchos of Fortune 500 companies makes more sense to me.”
According to him, his coveted outreach programme will surely help the state government as well as Bengaluru’s image in the days to come. He added that his department will also come up with an outreach programme to specifically meet CEOs and various top level industry leaders before the department even kicks off this year’s event.
“As part of this programme, we plan to meet various top industry leaders based in Taiwan, Europe and US, who have launched tech firms in these regions. Taiwan has a big presence in the Mobile Internet industry. Similarly, we can expect big investments from Europe and the USA too,” he said.
