Tata Salt Among Top Five Most Desirable Brands

Chennai: Tata Salt climbed 33 positions to grab a spot among the top five Most Desired Brands of 2023. Along with Titan, Tata and Sons has two brands among the top five.

Tata Salt, which stood at the 37th position in the MDB list of 2022 by TRA Research, moved up 33 positions to reach the fourth slot this year. Titan, on the other hand, moved ahead from 5th position to 2nd. Among the top-five brands, the Apple iPhone jumped 8 positions from 13th to 5th. Dell laptops and Samsung mobile phones retained their first and third positions respectively.

Among the brands which leapfrogged in a year in terms of desirability, include State Bank of India which moved up from 33rd position to the 14th slot, BoAT audio equipment which moved up 42 positions to the 14th spot as well as ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank which moved up 20 and 22 positions for 18th and 19th slots respectively. One Plus mobile phones made a giant leap of 100 positions from 127 to 27 in desirability. Value retail chain D-Mart climbed 77 positions from 112 to 35, Lux soaps jumped 71 positions from 111 to 40 and Dove shampoo made a wonderful leap of 154 positions from 199 to 45.

While Mi televisions zoomed past 82 positions from 105 to 23rd slot, Mi mobile phones slipped seven spots from second to 9th. Amul milk and Amul cheese went up 9 and 11 slots to reach the 16th and 21st positions. However, Amul butter slipped 11 positions to 32 from 21.

The year witnessed the emergence of 121 new brands in the esteemed list of 1000 brands, highlighting the dynamic nature of consumer preferences. Some of the newcomers include Sugar Cosmetics, OLA E-Bikes, Karl International, and Aldo Footwears, among others.
