Rs 1,450 Crore Investment Through Establishment of Four Companies in AP: CM Jagan
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has said investments of a total of Rs 1,450 crore have been made by four companies in Andhra Pradesh, which would provide direct and indirect employment to over 2,500 persons.
The CM inaugurated via online a Rs 100 crore worth edible oil refinery of the Godrej Agrovet Ltd at Chintalapudi in Eluru district and laid the foundation for the three other companies. He said, “I am glad that the MoUs signed at the global investors’ summit at Visakhapatnam have been translated into reality.”
Jagan Mohan Reddy also unveiled plaques of a bioethanol manufacturing unit, Kribhco Green Energy Pvt Ltd, that is investing Rs 610 crore and the ethanol manufacturing unit of the Viswa Samudra Bio Energy that would invest Rs 315 crore at Sarvepalli in Nellore district and of a soluble coffee manufacturing unit of the CCL Food and Beverages Ltd at Varadayi Palem Kuvvakolli in Tirupati district, costing Rs 400 crore.
Speaking from the Camp Office here on Thursday, the Chief Minister called this a wonderful moment.
He said, “The Kribhco and Viswa Samudra bio-ethanol units at Sarvepalli with a production capacity 500 and 200 kilo litres would provide jobs to over 1,000 and 500 persons respectively. This will be a game changer in the district’s industrial growth.”
“The CCL coffee manufacturing unit in Tirupati district with an annual production capacity of 16,000 tonnes would provide direct and indirect employment to 400 persons,” he said.
The Chief Minister thanked the industrialists for coming forward to establishing these units and wished them well. “I am happy to note that the 400-tonne capacity edible oil unit in Eluru district has started its operations within nine months of granting the permission. It is providing employment to 500 persons,” he said.
Meanwhile, agriculture minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, participating in the virtual programme from Tikkana Bhavan in the Nellore collectorate, commended the projects for their significant contributions to the causes of local employment and regional development.
He said district collector Hari Narayanan played a crucial role in facilitating the establishment of these units, including expediting the compensation to those who provided land for the projects.
Govardhan Reddy urged the management of Kribhco Green Energy and Viswa Samudra Bio Energy to ensure jobs for the local youth. He said the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation had allocated 289.81 acres and 23.85 acres of land in the Sarvepalli Industrial Park in Venkatachalam mandal for Kribhco Ethanol and Viswa Samudra Ethanol projects, respectively.
The virtual launch of the CCL project saw the participation of Tirupati MP M. Gurumurthy and Satyavedu MLA K Adimulam, with the chief minister performing the inauguration from Tadepalli.
Tirupati district collector Venkataramana Reddy was present at the CCL plant in Varadaiahpalem, while MLCs Chandrasekhar Reddy and B Chakravarthy were present at the plaque unveiling ceremony at Tikkana Bhavan in Nellore.
IT and industries minister G. Amarnath, chief secretary K.S. Jawahar Reddy, special chief secretary R. Karikal Valaven, agriculture principal secretary Chiranjeevi Choudary, industries joint director Padmavati, AP food processing corporation CEO L. Sridhar Reddy, several industrialists and senior officials were present.
