NTR district reaches 85.12 percent of its loan target

VIJAYAWADA: NTR district has achieved 85.12 per cent of the loan disbursal target fixed for the 2022–23 financial year by the District Consultative Committee and District-Level Review Committee.

Officials stated all banks in the district together distributed ₹14,154 crores in loans out of the targeted ₹16,628 crores to the priority sectors. ₹6,978 crores of the amount have been given as crop loans to the agricultural sector both during the Kharif and Rabi seasons out of the targeted ₹9,749 crores.

During the Kharif season, bankers disbursed ₹4,310 crores, 78.15 per cent of the targeted ₹5,515 crore. In the present Rabi season, they have loaned ₹2,668 crores, comprising 63.01 per cent of the targeted ₹4,234 crores loan.

Significantly, bankers distributed 137 per cent of the targeted amount to the MSME (medium, small, and micro enterprises) sector. All banks together extended ₹6,533 crores to MSMEs against the targeted ₹4,770 crore. This is in consonance with the top priority given to the MSME sector by the state government.

Giving the breakup, officials said micro industries got loans of ₹2,832 crores, small industries ₹2,294 crore and medium industries ₹1,407 crores.

However, the other priority sectors got only ₹643 crores in loans of the targeted ₹2,108 crores, the target achieved being a mere 30.05 per cent.
