Factory reps detailed about filing annual survey of industries returns
Hyderabad: Representatives from the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) and ministry of statistics & programme implementation held a meeting here on Wednesday with regard to compilation of the annual survey of industries (ASI) by factories.
The self-compilation camp, under the chairmanship of D. Satish, deputy director general of NSSO, Hyderabad, discussed the ASI portal and how they could compile an ASI return. The return collects information regarding fixed assets, working capital and loans, employment, expenses and receipts, input items, products and by-products. The factory personnel were exhorted about the statutory provisions of the Collection of Statistics Act (CoS) through which the ASI return is to be filed and the penalties for non-filing of returns.
The information is used to estimate the contribution of the industrial sector to the GDP and help the government in formulating policies for industrial development.
Shivaparvathi Reddy, deputy director, NSO, Hyderabad, and SSOs K. Guruswamy and Ramesh Mendu also spoke.
