International Spice Conference 2025 Begins in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The International Spice Conference (ISC) 2025, organized by the All India Spices Exporters Forum (AISEF), commenced at Leela Bhartiya City, Bengaluru, bringing together global industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers to discuss the future of the spice trade.
Dr. Krishna M. Ella, Executive Chairman of Bharat Biotech, inaugurated the four-day event, emphasizing the need for innovation and stringent quality standards in the spice industry. He highlighted the medicinal value of spices, calling for pharmaceutical-grade regulation, seed development, and advanced technologies for sustainable production.
P. Hemalatha IAS, Secretary of the Spices Board India, stressed the importance of sustainability, conservation-driven strategies, and global quality compliance. She noted India's leadership in the global spice trade, exporting 225 spice products to over 180 countries, and underscored efforts to enhance food safety through stringent testing.
Emmanuel Nambusseril, AISEF Chairman, highlighted ISC’s role in shaping the future of the spice trade, with discussions on food safety, regulatory challenges, and digital transformation. The conference, themed “Building Trust Beyond Borders: Transparency, Sustainability, Confidence”, aims to foster global collaboration and strengthen India's position as a spice industry leader.
A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Jean Mane, CEO of Mane Group of Companies, for his contributions to the global spice industry.
