Mumbai: Jio Financial Services and Zomato will be included in the Nifty 50 index from March 28, 2025, replacing Britannia Industries and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), according to a release by the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
The decision was made by the Index Maintenance Sub-Committee (Equity) of NSE Indices as part of its periodic review. The changes will take effect from the close of trading on March 27, 2025.
"Zomato and Jio Financial Services have been included in the Nifty 50 index as the six-month average free-float market capitalization of these companies within the eligible universe is at least 1.5 times that of the smallest constituents, namely Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Britannia Industries," NSE stated.
Only stocks available for trading in the NSE’s Futures & Options (F&O) segment qualify for inclusion in the index.
Additionally, Bajaj Housing Finance, CG Power and Industrial Solutions, Hyundai Motor India, Indian Hotels, and Swiggy will be included in the Nifty 100 index, replacing Adani Total Gas, Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), IRCTC, NHPC, and Union Bank of India.
